We awake and took a trip into Agnes Waters to see if we had missed any hidden gems.
We hadn’t. It is a place that probably was hip and trendy surf joint back in the day. Now it still has the beach but tons of mid market beach holiday Developements. So back to 1770 for breakfast. We stop of at the cafe we had dinner at. The flies were plentiful and a pest. We moved away from them, Maggie went for her fly net but when the food arrived they were everywhere. Eventually we brought the plates over to the camper and ate inside. When we arrived back at the beach it was the same story.

A plague of flies and butterflies. You couldn’t sit outside without having dozens on you. Later a local said it was unprecedented and wasn’t sure if he put it down to the storms the night before or the temperature. Either way it took the gloss of 1770 so we took the decision to jump ship and head for Hervey Bay instead.

The journey was long and without incident or any particular joy.
Apart that is from visiting a large aviary beside Apple Tree Creek containing all the birds we have seen at not close quarters up to now. It was a another special occasion that came out of nowhere and was well worth it.

On the way we get to see how broad minded and inclusive the Australians really are.

So what do you do in the Isis Club?

We arrived and got a campsite by the beach and worked out a plan.

The idea was to go to Frazer Island but instead we decided to bite the bullet, get up early and do that the 7 hour journey to Nimbin and stay there a couple of days.

Sounds like a plan. This beach will  have to do without us.
