Driving
\nFirst on scenic roads up through Kenilworth.<\/p>\n

This is a beautiful old town with a real character.<\/p>\n

We stop in the local bakery and enjoy fresh pie just out of the oven.<\/p>\n

It is the son of the original owner who runs it and it looks like the third generation is hot on his heels.<\/p>\n
Next Maggie visits the Goddess Emporium and is sold to by a youngster who’s mum makes most of the jewellery and stuff in the shop.<\/p>\n

\nSo back to the camper and the journey on to Nimbin.<\/p>\n
Nimbin
\nNimbin was a sleepy small town up in the mountains until 1973. Then they had the Aquarius festival. The hippies arrived and basically never left. Whilst this was the same all over the world at that time most places moved on.<\/p>\n
They were taken over by Mammon and the cold light of a grownup world.<\/p>\n
Nimbin just forgot to.<\/p>\n

They over time transformed the town into a Mecca for an alternative lifestyle for environmentalists, creatives, and any drop out chill out lifestyle you want.<\/p>\n

Love their mini-roundabout painted on the road.<\/p>\n

The townscape is adorned with psychedelic store fronts and local throwbacks to the 70’s. you have the Hemp embassy pushing alternative lifestyle ideas.<\/p>\n

Numerous shops selling pipes, and skins and numerous guys selling a variety of weed.
\nAll this up the road from the police station who obviously must go with the flow.<\/p>\n

The camp site takes its cue from the town and has a mix of visitors and those who seem to have taken up a more permanent residence.<\/p>\n

We even have Parakeets that feed on the bush just beside our window<\/p>\n

We love it and it is lovely to get a chance to chill after all the travelling.<\/p>\n
