Up early to view our private beach. Just a fisherman with a smile and a bag full of fish, albeit small ones but still they are biting so that is good.<\/p>\n

We travel to Hervey Bay. This was to be our jump off point to Frazer Island but instead we decide to travel on to 1770 as it has been recommended.<\/p>\n

Frankly Hervey Bay is another beach and the town just doesn’t excite us.<\/p>\n

I guess we are getting fussy.<\/p>\n

15th<\/p>\n

We leave to travel to 1770.
\nThis is a recommendation by several different independent sources. One, a guy we met in a bar called Murphy said he had spent his childhood holidays here every year and it was a great vibe, very chilled, ‘we would love it’.
\nIncidentally his Greatgrandpapa emigrated here courteous of Her Majesty in the 1880’s. he said that he probably stole a loaf of bread to feed the family or something. He still has relatives in Limerick.
\nSo to 1770, or as we thought it was called listening to Mr. Murphy 7070.
\nThis is beside Agnes Waters about 150 miles away. We take the scenic route round the coast and pass some very expensive holiday homes.<\/p>\n

Agnes Waters is an upmarket holiday town that was probably a ?\u200d\u2640\ufe0f ? hideout in the past that has grown respectability over time and seems to still be on the up.<\/p>\n

The surf is low today so the beach is pretty and pretty empty with only a surf school in the water. The stingers mustn’t have arrived here yet.<\/p>\n

We travel just round the coast to 1770 and this seems to be as described.<\/p>\n

\"img_8347\"The beach is shabby and the caravan park right on the beach.<\/p>\n

When we arrive the tide is out and the Pelicans are hanging about probably in the hope of some fisherman’s cast offs for lunch.<\/p>\n

The sun gently descends and we wait for another glorious sunset as we read about the earthquake outside Christchurch our next destination.<\/p>\n

\"dsc03927\"We wonder about the implications for us while feeling for those that have lost their lives and those that have been impacted.
\nTonight is a super moon so we are hoping for clear skies.<\/p>\n

A grasshopper has just landed on Maggie’s arm just where she sprayed insect repellant two minutes ago to drive away the flies.
\nSuch are the trials of life.
\nThe sunset didn’t disappoint.
\nSo after dinner we settle in for cinema night.
\nWe have purchased \u201cPricilla Queen Of The Desert\u201d as our erstwhile buddy from Alice Springs had travelled there to relive the teams exploits.
\nIt is a fun film and we did relive our steps up heart attack hill and the top of Kings Canyon but really, how would you know it was Lassiters hotel. Good to watch a film and then walk on the beach in the full moon. Quiet, the people here do go to sleep so early. 10.40 and we thought we were up so late.<\/p>\n
